Unfortunately, the job was being the nurse to a mob/yak/mob/yak clinic in the violent and less than perfect Loveland in the Puyallup Barrens, managing to rent a crummy apartment in a tenement building populated by Orks. The territory was forever contested as the ownership, and clientele of the clinic changed almost daily. It was far from perfect, but it was one step from being on the corner, twirling on a pole or lying on her back, the usual position women are in the little city of sin. She made a good impression on both underworld organisations, which allowed her a few perks, mostly slightly better quality soy and a degree of protection from the local gangers.
The years were rough on Jacques, being a human amongst Orks was hard enough, but he made a few friends, mostly Richard, Red, from across the hall. The two being scrawny kids with single parents and no siblings, soon became inseparable. Jacques was backing Red when his stutterers tongue was ridiculed by others, and when his vision became blurry and he was forced to wear corrective glasses due to the high cost of cyber replacement, Red was busy knocking those who saw the human as easy target.
With time, both Jacques and Red joined the ranks of the Oilers, the local gang running from an abandoned garage. It is there than Jacques saw that he had a certain degree of skills with firearms, getting his first kill at age 12 after firing nice shots all over the place. He also recognised the inherent problem of semi-automatics; they jammed. His L36 blocked during his third shoot-out resulting in the death of 2 gang members, people he admired and looked up to. This is when he switched to the more reliable revolvers, and deciding that since he will be loaded few bullets, that he should make every shot counts. Training became his past time, between getting buzzed, tail and creds.
After years of gang running, he expanded his reach into shadowrunning. The jobs were different, and the pay was better, but it was nothing more than being a rent-a-ganger. During a simple run to escort a charter bus full of British students into the Cascades, he met Megan, who ran an Alchemical school, with connection the Cambridge University, in Northern Tacoma. The run was filled with the supernatural; Wendigo, giant wasps, water elemental the size of buildings, the astral spirit of said Wendigo, Corp extraction squad the works. Jacques, quite challenged and curious, joined into the school as security consultant, having access to a steady paycheck, nice apartment, and powerful spells casted on him that made him faster than any chromed up samurai. He handled hiring new security personnel, set up schedules, patrols and escorts when the students went out clubbing.
He worked the position for 6 years until during a late night ambush by an Aztech squad returning from the club scene, a few bad calls resulted in three of his employees, friends really, and 2 students critically wounded. Doc Wagon arrived quickly, and apart from a month of extensive care for one victim, everyone was alive, but this put doubt into Jacques’ mind, taking him back to years ago, when his jammed weapon brought upon the execution of his ganger brothers. He began to question his methods and decisions, which brought more problems when one students was almost kidnapped right from the school’s property. To him, he was not able to keep doing what he did. He took a leave of absence from his work, put his #2 in charge, had the quicken spells removed from him, not without consequences, and moved to his old turf to do a little soul searching.
It did not take long to realise what he knew no longer held true, not to mention that he may not be as welcomed as he thought. Red was busy as a shadow mechanic, his mother was still working the clinic, either had time for him. The old gang had all new faces, not to mention the young punks who were more than eager to try and challenge him to duel trying to make a name for themselves. He got on his Growler and went to settle into greener pastures, finding a little flat in northern Puyallup.

Gang-related crimes and actions (pimping, drug and chip pushing, protection, good old, fashioned robbery and thievery). Did a little shadowrunning with moderate results. Worked as escort for Commute students when they were out on the town and during field trips into the Cascades area.

Christian (Roman Catholic) as for politics, he’s not too numbed to pay it any attention.
12) What is the character's moral code?
He follows his own code, the bits taken here and there as he grew up, some added as his own views changed and grew:
-Your word is your bond; Don’t break a promise or a made agreement.
-Respect is a two-way street; you got to give some to get some. You get none back, all bets are off.
-When you can, lead and act by example.
-Don’t pray on the weak; loyalty and respect by fear is fickle and easily toppled; not to mention that sometimes we always need smaller than ourselves to get out of trouble.
-Don’t kill an unarmed person; magic as is it, count as a weapon-both ranged spells and adept powers. Having a melee weapon count as armed as well, but kill shots are for when your opponent is capable of getting to you, so from short to melee range; Shoot to wound if they are further away.
-The weak and those not able to defend themselves are to be helped and protected.
-If you got to shoot someone, make sure it’s from the front, not the back; No one respects a coward.
13) Does the character have any goals?
He is tempted to get married, but in his current state, he is not ready to get it done without having a steady source of income. He wants to get his own trouble cleared instead of dragging his loved one down with him into it. He also wants to be known as a hot-drek shooter, but knows that his lack and dislike of ‘ware is blocking that prospect.

The usual, money, the need for challenge, trying to elevate himself from his current predicament
15) What is the character's personality?
He’s easy-going, going about things half serious (or half nonchalant) most of the time. He knows his skills and that violence will just bring trouble in the future (not to mention Police attention), so he will always aim to reach an agreement before resolving to drawing guns.
16) What special qualities does the character possess?
He’s a wiz with a hogleg. His upbringing gave him a good, polite demeanour that grants him believable creditability, which allows him to be trusted by most when lying.
17) Are there certain things the character just cannot do?
Not too keen on commlinks and decking, he would rather leave it to others. He won’t touch cyber, seeing it as an excuse for shortcomings. He is not into killing for the sake of splitting blood, nor to attack those he sees as weaker and in need of protection.
18) What does the character hate?
He’s not too fond of Elves, seeing them as liars, and schemers; he was outspoken in the past, but he learned to kept for himself, except in some cases, after dealing and working with a few who proved to be worthy of trust. People who also pray on the weak are also despised by him; there is merely no challenge to be had when your opponent is incapable of defending themselves.

Taking drugs, as it helps him escape his reality. Bliss being on top of his list, with Zen having a respectable second place. His usage has dropped considerably when he was working, at Commute, but has risen up since the accident. Drinking also helps him forget. He also likes to display his gun skills, either by trick shooting or simple gunslinging.

Jacques Duplessis is his birth name, but he never deals or go with it as a mean of protecting himself and his mother. He usually goes by either Jack, Four-Eyes or Vincent Delacroix (Del-la-croy)

Lya’zi- Elven member of the Parlour Tricks; her and her gang’s double crossing (and subsequent elimination) was the spark that started his hate for Elves.
Lannìa- Human Reality Hacker ganger, they met during one of the decking gang wild party. She died in 2063 during a matrix run against Yakuza intrest.
Lucille-Ork Charter bus driver/owner used to get the Commute classes in and around the Cascades during their material gathering. Still ongoing relation.
23) How did your character first get introduced to Shadowrunning? (What did the character do to get called by a Johnson)
The first meeting he went to was actually to cover for a friend, a real shadowrunner, as he was persona non grata (also, to be shot on sight) in Redmond. As his runner friend moved from Runner to fixer, he proved to be his entry door into shadowrunning.
24) Why did the character leave his old life to be a Shadowrunner?
During an escort run in the Cascades, Vincent got to talk to Megan, the Commute Principal/CEO. Seeing that she was in need for better security, he decided to offer his service for a steadier pay in a new field he never even thought of going into. It lasted for a good number of years, until his mistake costed lives, and he took an extended leave to get his mind straighten out.
