[20:14] <@BradGM> +++ Leaving Earl’s house, Mockingbird went to meet the heretic himself to get the password of his well protected dataslate, but Grendel’s harsh methods flatlines the man. Only prompt medical treatment managed to save his life until next time.
[20:14] <@BradGM> Taking the risk of losing everyting, Grendel and Mira cracks the password and gain access to the list of nobles, a select clientele in which no name stands out, short of the deceased Yulp. Reporting to Inquisitor Jex, the acolytes are whip back into their original objective; to learn and apprehend the Gloom Haunt, not to take down the elusive Beats House.
[20:15] <@BradGM> Meanwhile, Jon wakes up from a few hours’ rest and completes his paperwork brilliantly, before adding into the brainstorm the cell is currently working with. Judge Wake makes for the Administratum Tower to gets information on land deeds of the short list of possible suspects (Lady de Fourber, Major Quinlan and Captain Somers), while Grendel’s search using the Inquisition database reveals nothing out of the ordinary.
[20:15] <@BradGM> The Tech-Priest made his way back to Mockingbird’s quarters resolving to analyse the clues before them in greater detail for some sort of connecting line.+++

[23:09] * @Grendel` continues to scan all the information he has, as well as looking over the list of nobles to see what kind of Xenos tech they may be harboring.

JON SEARCHES THE ADMINISTRATUM
[20:15] * DiceServitor (~DiceServi@modemcable135.171-57-74.mc.videotron.ca) has joined #Arbites
[20:17] * Jon_Wake (~LukeProwl@50.33.215.195) has joined #Arbites
[20:17] <@BradGM> jon, you're at the main entrance desk. The old adept is busy leaning into a large book, writting down some information taht's completly aline to you.
[20:18] <@BradGM>
He seems oblivious to your presence.
[20:21] * Jon_Wake rings the bell or knocks on the desk, what to catch the man's attetnion "I'm here on Arbite business. I require information on a set of noble suspects" Straight and to the point
[20:22] <Jon_Wake> ((Wasn't there a fourth suspect?))
[20:24] <@BradGM> ((A general, but he was a tank commander, and far form being the type to do the gloom haunt's actions,a ccording to Lyra))
[20:24] <@BradGM>
The man glances over from his book "Hm. Yes. I'll jsut need your Form 346534-F."
[20:24] <Jon_Wake> Thankfully Jon did that ahead of time!
[20:25] <@BradGM> ((Hmm..well you did says so..))
[20:25] <Jon_Wake> ((I assume literacy test, any bonus))
[20:26] <Jon_Wake> ((And yes, that is slightly gamey, but it is a difference between what I know and what my character knows))
[20:26] <@BradGM> ((yeah I'll allow that; make it at +10, since it must'nt be the first time you daelt with them))
[20:27] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 90
[20:27] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 33 Success by 5 degrees!
[20:28] <@BradGM> Indeed you got the form all filed singed and even stampt!
[20:28] * Jon_Wake hands the form over, which details the request for any property holdings of the suspects, any blue prints of said holdings, and any related information
[20:30] <@BradGM> The old adept takes it and put on his own stamps "Here we go" He presses a button anda servo-skull comes flying "Bring this to legal 45.21 on the tenth floor. Red Priority, Adeptus Arbites."
[20:30] <Jon_Wake> (("Great, we'll have your report in three year"))
[20:30] <@BradGM> The servo-skull beeps and fly away.
[20:30] <@BradGM> ((nah- 3-6 months))
[20:30] <Jon_Wake> ((Worse thing is that I know you're serious))
[20:33] <@BradGM> ((wherE's the fun in that?))
[20:33] <@BradGM> 1d5
[20:33] <DiceServitor> BradGM: 1
[20:33] <@BradGM> It, surpsingly, onyl takes an hour for the servo-skull ot return with a pile of scrolls, books and info chips.
[20:34] <Jon_Wake> "Thank you for your cooperation, citizen" Jon takes the pile and begins going through it
[20:35] <@BradGM> there are a few tables and chairs available with whcih you can look at the infom in relative loneliness.
[20:36] <@BradGM> You can roll literacy+10, or inquiry-10 to browse throught them
[20:37] * Jon_Wake does exactly that.
[20:37] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 90 literacy
[20:37] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 20 Success by 7 degrees!
[20:38] <@BradGM> ((hoyl crap))
[20:38] <@BradGM> ((where were those rolls 2 weeks ago?))
[20:39] <Jon_Wake> ((Exactly))
[20:39] * Jon_Wake begins to cut down the information, looking for local propety which could possible have a route into the underhive, and would corrispond with clues that have so far
[20:42] <@BradGM> You see that, as Grendel found, all three suspects have little in terms of local property; de fourber has parts in a agricultural corporation in an agri-world in the Sector, while Captain Somers got a small manor house on Cyprian's Gate, a paradise World, and Major Quinlan got quarters on Port Wander, which appears to be a space station of sorts.
[20:43] <@BradGM> ((Oh wait you already searched that option))
[20:43] <Jon_Wake> ((Isn't port wander the gate into the Khronos expanse?))
[20:43] <@BradGM> Port wander is a space station in the Calixis Sector, at the very border of the Imperium; it is safe to assume it IS the last Imperial Presnece before setting sail into the out reaches of the galaxy.
[20:44] <@BradGM> indeed it is the first point for any vessel wishing to enter the Koronus Expanse
[20:46] * Jon_Wake continues to scroll through the tables, perhaps seeing if that was possibly a way too see a pattern of actions in this mess of paper
[20:47] <Jon_Wake> ((I'm reaching at straws, really))
[20:48] <@BradGM> Apart from minor objects, a boat here, a shuttle there, there's nothing much to go on.
[20:49] <Jon_Wake> Perhaps money expensises
[20:51] <@BradGM> roll again to search that information
[20:52] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 90
[20:52] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 60 Success by 3 degrees!
[20:56] <@BradGM> You see that Somers book passage to Cyprian's Gate about 2 years ago to his manor and came back 8 months ago, with little change in what he brought, if only a few caes of local liquor, wines and goods. Quinlan went to Port Wander about 3 years ago, and returned to Scintilla a little more than a year ago; he reutnred with significantly more baggage than he left with according to the manifest, about double, but the goods are not identified, if only as 'hunting trophies'.
[20:58] <Jon_Wake> ((What time frame did we determind that Gloomhaunt started?))
[20:58] <Jon_Wake> ((It's attacks, I mean))
[21:01] <@BradGM> ((6 months give or take))
[21:03] * Jon_Wake looked over the blueprints, to see if there are any suspicious rooms or additions
[21:08] <@BradGM> Nothing that you see; De fourber's house and Somers are lower spire, while Major Quinlan's is actually quite higher; it is even buildon the side of the spire, so he actually gets real natural sunlgiht beathing most, if not all, of his rooms.
[21:10] <Jon_Wake> ((Lovely))
[21:11] <@BradGM> roll logic))
[21:12] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 60
[21:12] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 54 Success by 0 degrees!
[21:14] <@BradGM>
Outside..'pretty much the only place where no one hae eyes to see...a good way to slip down the hive unoticed..just don't forget your rebreather.
[21:14] <@BradGM> ((hae=has))
[21:16] * Jon_Wake considers that it is possible to geting down to the underhive through the outside of the hive dome
[21:17] <@BradGM>
outside is quite toxis, and while there are radar and vox for shuttles and such, a single man could be capable of slipping wihtout being noticed by the scanners and such, being no bigger than a discarded chunk of palssteel falling fomrthe derelic exterior.
[21:18] <Jon_Wake> ((Except for possibly it's scambling tech))
[21:19] <@BradGM> ((yeah you do know his 'secret' so to speak))
[21:31] * Jon_Wake reports that information to Mockingbird, then begins to look through for perhaps any recent deliveries or aquisitions
[21:32] <@BradGM>
Deliveries would not be lsited in Administratum archives, but wihtin each house hold's own personnal account books.
[21:50] * Jon_Wake skims through more data, looking for perhaps any small clue
[21:52] <@BradGM>
With the info you have right now, you see nothing else that could be useful, short of actually visting Cyprian's Gate and/or Port Wander to see those locations for yourself
[22:01] * Jon_Wake seems pleased, before returning the information back to the adepts before leaving
[22:02] <Jon_Wake> ((Unless they're copies, in which case I'd like to keep those blueprints))
[22:03] <@BradGM>
roll charm to get some copies made
[22:03] <@BradGM>
+20 since you,re an arbitraotor and all
[22:03] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 88
[22:03] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 47 Success by 4 degrees!
[22:04] * Jon_Wake Jon and his 80s punk eyeliner go to work
[22:04] <@BradGM>
The old adept gets you some copies of the blueprints
[22:04] <@BradGM> ((Human league FTW))
[22:06] <@BradGM> Adpet "If there's nothing else Justicar, I'll resume my task."
[22:08] * Jon_Wake thinks about it, before insperation hits him, and he asks for biology reports on locations of Gloom Haunt hives
[22:09] <Jon_Wake> (("okay, this is going to sound weird, but..."))
[22:09] <@BradGM> Adept "Hmm..I would need to veriffy this, pelase wait."
he calls thes evo-skull agian and sends it to a wing on the 23 rd floor.
[22:11] <Jon_Wake> ((Concentrations was actually the word I was thinking of, but hive works too))
[22:16] <@BradGM> 1d10
[22:16] <DiceServitor> BradGM: 4
[22:17] <@BradGM>
This one takes 4 hours of wait, but you do get a small report, mostly concentrateing on the Hive city; gloom Haunts population seems to soar in a few areas, but sicne they are drek holes and not manufactoriums and other critical part, there is low priority to get rid of them. local Protectorate offer a small bounty for each oen dead, and that seems toget keep their numbers in check.
[22:19] <Jon_Wake> ((Any of them near the attack sites?))
[22:20] <@BradGM>
Nothing wihtin the Hive city no...but roll literate or inquiry
[22:20] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 80
[22:20] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 21 Success by 5 degrees!
[22:20] <Jon_Wake> ((Man, who knew sleep could help so much))
[22:21] <@BradGM> *8you do have footnote reports that there was reports of gloom Haunts in previously unrecoreded locations, like near Earl's restaurants, or Muty's house. it is unkown how they managed to get this high in the hive wihtout being either detected, killed or done any victim.

[22:22] <@BradGM> (9hahaha))
[22:23] <Jon_Wake> ((And I presume this is for the hive proper, and nothing from the underhive))
[22:26] <@BradGM> ((yup, the udnerhive is..well the underhive.))
[22:26] <Jon_Wake> ((Indeed))
[22:29] <@BradGM> roll logic
[22:30] <Jon_Wake> !dhroll 60
[22:30] <DiceServitor> Jon_Wake: 12 Success by 4 degrees!
[22:30] <@BradGM> if the Gloom Haunt uses the outside to get inside the hive as he see fit, then those concentration of gloom hautns could be a way to disguyise his entry points apart fomr those of the more mundane nature, ie. docking bays and such
[22:31] <@BradGM> ((oh 4 DoS as well. damn))
[22:31] <@BradGM> ((graet minds do think alike))
[22:32] * Jon_Wake crossrefences the possible entry points to locations of the suspects
[22:32] <@BradGM> With the underhive being what it is, then no doubt that a large concentration of gloom haunt will serve both as a weapon and a deterrent for any gangers or drek scum to step into some secret location or entry way.
[22:32] <Jon_Wake> ((JOn's mind is like a steel trap. Grendel's probably has a literal steel trap in it))
[22:32] <@BradGM> Well, wiht your 2 main suspects being nobles fomr the spire, hard to pin-point
[22:35] * Jon_Wake wonders if gloom haunts could even survive the open air of the planet
[22:36] <@BradGM> ((You'll need Xeno Beasts knowledge to know that))
[22:36] <Jon_Wake> ((Grendel does have lore Xenos))
[22:44] * Jon_Wake gives the dataslates back. It seemed that was all he was going to get out of that, unless he look into every port or balcony or vent scematics for a secret way into the underhive
[22:45] <@BradGM> ((you got enginerring knowledge?))
[22:47] <Jon_Wake> ((Nope. Arbite scholoistic lore focuses more on codes or law or chems))
[22:49] <@BradGM> ((ok; you got the blueprints, but you can't amke heads or tails of them.))
[22:50] <@BradGM> ((at least you know what the walls are but apart fomr that..it's a little too technical for you))
[22:52] <Jon_Wake> ((The only thing he needs to know is where the front door is so he can kick it down))
[22:54] <@BradGM> ((hahaha true that))
[23:01] <Jon_Wake> ((I'm out of ideas))
[23:05] <@BradGM> ((well you do ahve the hperomones..))
[23:06] <Jon_Wake> ((True but I'm not sure how that would help in the fact finding))
[23:07] <@BradGM> ((no not really, more later down the road..))
[23:08] <Jon_Wake> ((Right, that's what I was thinking))
