Augaustus von Gould is as roguish as Rogue Trader goes; suspected of numerous less-than-legal actions, including (but not limited to) piracy, smuggling, cold trading, Theft of tithe, numerous assassinations of high ranking Adptus officials, harbouring, selling arms and resources to enemies of the Imperium. He evade justice by his own Warrant of Trade, "leaving the scene" before official inquires can be held, and plausible deniability (most of his dealings being handled by his agents, minions and third parties.)
Rogue Trade von Gould has not set foot in the Imperium for decades now, at least 70-80 years since entering the Koronus Expanse, leaving his numerous ships (from merchant vessels to cruisers) sailing to Port Wander or the Calixis Sector to conduct his nefarious deeds and returning with precious goods (minerals, gas for plasma engines, little foodstuff)
Asking about in the drinking dens of the station and dealing with the multitude of mercenaries and bodyguards looking for work, you've learned that von Gould has been hiring mercs with good regularity for the last 20-30 years, and by mercs, it's the thuggish, sadistic type, who'd kill their own mother for a handful of thrones, with a lousy reputation and crappy ethics. He also moved alot of colonists but very little, if any, missionaries with them. Some tech-adepts also left for his colonies- as to who or what rank they held is unknown at that point, but any colonial or exploitation effort would require servants of the Omnissiah.
While there is a great many ships coming and going to Port Wander, a few inquires found some suitable transport for the Koronus Expanse.

It was learned that she is a staunch Loyalist and rather honourable person (at least there's no indication that she conducted any wrong dealings or did not respect any past agreement she took with the Imperium)
Jeremiah Blitz, Captain of the Cruiser The "Ordained Destiny"
It was found out that Blitz is far form the high society man usual of someone of his stature and more of a charming scoundrel, dabbling in smuggling of Xeno art (hence, a Cold Trader) and other dubious goods. The man is a bit too far from the reach of the Arbites, thanks to his Warrant of Trade. It was found that his usual haunt, an establisment called the Bloodstone, is far from the fancy nobility and closer to the scum that populates the lower decks.
Patrol Group XC-2, composed of an Endeavour-Class Cruiser and a pair of Sword frigate, led by Commodore Sasha Rivers. What information was found on Rivers speaks of her competancy as a Captain and leader
