14/1/16
[20:17] <@BradGM> Taking out their own torches and lanterns out made the innocent Marsh Light spell to stand out even more in the Darkwald. Catching the Beastsmen’s attention, they let go of their attack, giving enough time for the convoy to reach the safety of the next coaching inn. The next two days were tense, but the convoy suffered no more attack, and began tasting civilization again in the form of a tollbooth.
[20:17] <@BradGM> . Reaching Böchen for a final night on the road, the Party is approaching Altdorf near midday, as waves after waves of nauseating smells reaches their nostrils coming from the City Gates, with only a single name to help; Dieter Klemperer, friend of Prof. Zweistein, scholar and Master Wizard of the Celestial College.
[20:18] <@BradGM> !roll 1d10
[20:18] <Diceling> BradGM: 7
[20:18] <@BradGM> Now you get the recognisable smell of burning wood and smoke.
[20:18] <@BradGM> DEspite seeing no smoke cloud or see fire
[20:19] * +Siluvaine grimaces, though atleasts its better than the...dead fish and vomit smell from earlier.
[20:19] <@BradGM> ((hahaha))
[20:20] <@BradGM> Patrolman "If you're looking for adecent palce to rest your feet, ty to smoking Table, near the North gate; not too costy, 'food's eatable, and you won't get too much stares form the locals.
[20:20] * +Siluvaine looks for one of the patrolmen they've been traveling with. "Is..this normal?"
[20:21] <@BradGM> Patrolman "What is? The smell? Oh sigmar yes; Altdorf's build on both sides of the Reik and the Talabec pours into it as well like most of the city garbage; if you thik it's smellly here, wait until you past the gates..
[20:21] <+Aithorn> "Maybe we'll get lucky, and they ate all the fish yesterday?" said Aithorn wistfully but without any real conviction.
[20:23] * @Edgerrin has smelled worse
[20:23] <@BradGM> As you approcha the Gate, the smell gets stronger and stronger. You even can hear loud, cacophonous talking as well, like a millions people talking at once. There is also a toll! A copper a leg, a shilling a horse and per axel
[20:23] * +Siluvaine grimaces and continues on. "Any idea where the Celestial Colleges might have lodging?"
[20:23] <@BradGM> Edgerrin, due to an ancient Imperia;l degree Dwarves donT' pay the toll
[20:23] * @Edgerrin grins
[20:24] <@BradGM> Patrolman "Can't say, never went too far in the City, the road beckons and doesn't smell like that hahah!"
[20:24] <+Aithorn> "I never thought I'd see the day when Siluvaine would want to be an axe-wielder..."
[20:24] <@Edgerrin> "'At's an extra pint of gut rot methinks."
[20:25] * +Siluvaine shakes her head, looking even more disgusted at the idea than the smell.
[20:26] <@BradGM> As you past the Gate, the smell hit you like a ton of brick..But not just that; the streets are PACKED with people, rich with bodyguards, poor with thier elbows, Wizards, pedlers, beggars, servants, merchants...from the clothing also, it seems that poelpe form all of the empire, if not, the Old World, is walking the streets. Houses are also all buld with jetting, giving a shadowy cloak as you walk, leaving but a thin beam of sunlight over your head.
[20:27] <@BradGM> !roll 1d10
[20:27] <Diceling> BradGM: 8
[20:27] * @Edgerrin makes sure all of his valuables are tuck away safely.
[20:27] <+Aithorn> "I imagine the Celestial wizards will be somewhat removed from this... mess, the sooner we get there, the sooner we can breathe again."
[20:27] * +Siluvaine digs a cloth from her bag and holds it over her nose and mouth.
[20:27] <@BradGM> Argh..smell like sweaty armpits..
[20:28] <+Aithorn> ((are there *that* many dwarfs around? ))
[20:28] <@BradGM> It takes about 50 meters of fighting your way don the road until yousee the sign of the Smoking Table.*
[20:28] <@Edgerrin> ((just me ;P))
[20:28] <@BradGM> ((there are a few dwarves yes, but it's mostly humans))
[20:29] <+Siluvaine> "Let us hope, but how we're supposed to find anything in all this..."
[20:30] <@BradGM> The Smoking Table is moderately packed, the smell is ever worse. You see half the people, oddly enough dressed rather colourly, stopped talking and look you over as you enter; the other half of the patrons ignore you, too busy talking, laughing or drunkenly trying to fight
[20:30] <@BradGM> Prices are bit higter; 2 pences for beer, 6 for a meal. There is no rooms.
[20:32] <@Edgerrin> 'where's this place we nned ta be going?"
[20:32] <@BradGM> ((just to have a place to sit and tlak; talkng in the streets in next to impossible short of yelling))
[20:33] <+Siluvaine> ((Did they provide a location at all where to look?))
[20:33] <@BradGM> ((nope; just celestial college, altdorf))
[20:34] <+Aithorn> "Perhaps the bartender knows where it is?"
[20:34] <@BradGM> ((but you can always ask!))
[20:35] * +Siluvaine nods and considers the group for a moment before figuring she's got as good a shot as anyone and heads for the bar.
[20:35] <@BradGM> Asking the ladnlord, a woman in her mid 40s, about the Celestial College, she simply waves her arm to the right "Easy, First go toward the Imperial Palace, past the Reik, then 'should be near the Temple of Sigmar."
[20:36] <+Siluvaine> "Which way is the palace?
[20:36] <@BradGM> LandLord "Look up, follow the Spires with the Imperial Ealge on it."
[20:37] <@BradGM> Landlord "you damn people screwed the wholem City over whn you made the Colleges, so good luck using your orientation sense to get around."
[20:38] * +Siluvaine thanks the woman and passes across two coppers for the information. "Thank you."
[20:38] <@BradGM> Landlord "Just follow the Spires, keep your purse close, don't get dragged in a riot and you should be all right."
[20:39] * @Edgerrin blinks at seeing Sil freely give money away.
[20:39] <@BradGM> ((TWO HOLE COPPERS))
[20:39] <@BradGM> ((*whole))
[20:39] * @Edgerrin once again shecks his valuables before leaving.
[20:40] <@BradGM> You booze and weapons are still there Edgerrin
[20:40] * +Aithorn secures his own purse and valuables as well
[20:41] * +Siluvaine comes back to the group. "Head towards the Palace, past the reik, and near the temple of Sigmar."
[20:41] <@BradGM> You all take a few moments to move your precious things around on your body; hopefyllu it'll suffice.
[20:43] <@BradGM> Outside, there is still full of people in the streets. Looking up in the thin crack of day light passing you can see in the distance largeStandard with the Imperial Eagle floating in the wind.
[20:43] <+Siluvaine> "Oh, and apparently riots are common enough to warn about."
[20:43] <@BradGM> Those with Survival or orientation can roll it as well
[20:44] <+Aithorn> "If all these people see are buildings, how do they know what time it is?"
[20:44] <+Siluvaine> ((not I))
[20:44] <@BradGM> ((I think it's the A-team; Alexi and Aithorn))
[20:44] <+Aithorn> !dhroll 51
[20:44] <Diceling> Aithorn: 60 Failure by 0 degrees!
[20:45] <+Alexi> !dhroll 31
[20:45] <Diceling> Alexi: 38 Failure by 0 degrees!
[20:45] <+Siluvaine> ((more like B-team!))
[20:45] <+Aithorn> ((if you have a problem, if you can find them, maybe you can hire.... The A-Team! dah-dahdaaaaa dun-dun dun))
[20:45] <+Aithorn> ((lol, well played, Siluvaine))
[20:46] <@BradGM> Aithorn, the almost-enclosed streets, thanks to the jetting houses, has removed all of your natural abilites to orient yourself. Alexi same thing, if only due to the fact that the streets are too narrow, too full and the smell too distracting to get a gauge of where you are
[20:46] * +Siluvaine points in the general direction. "That way, maybe?"
[20:47] <@BradGM> You go down toward the Palace. You appear to be in a rather middle class sector of the City, most houses being 3 or 4 stories high
[20:47] <@BradGM> !roll 1d100
[20:47] <Diceling> BradGM: 13
[20:47] <@BradGM> ((bwahaha))
[20:47] <+Aithorn> "It's as good as any other, let us know if anybody smells the river when we get close. At least they can't build roofs over the river."
[20:48] <@Edgerrin> "This place be more cramped than a goblin warren"
[20:49] <@Edgerrin> "Me people live underground and we got more room ta move."
[20:49] <+Alexi> "Yah, but de all gotz to fit in de valls."
[20:50] <@BradGM> You arrive in a slightly wider streets; there is you see numerous Watchmen making a cordon , fighitng off enraged citizens "Altdorfers love their meatpies!" "Down with the reorganization of the meatpie charter Tax!" "Hafling workin' means no more stealin'!"
[20:50] * +Siluvaine keeps the cloth over her mouth as they move on, glancing around, looking for any signs of landmarks while keeping her purse close.
[20:50] <@BradGM> It seems there is a riot underway.
[20:51] <+Siluvaine> "Did..tey say meat pies?"
[20:51] <@BradGM> !roll 1d100
[20:51] <Diceling> BradGM: 23
[20:51] * @Edgerrin as much as he likes a good old fashioned meat pie will steer clear of the crazies.
[20:52] * +Siluvaine keeps away from the riot as much as possible, while looking for a way to continue.
[20:52] <@Edgerrin> "that they did. din't know your folk et them."
[20:52] <@BradGM> You deviate from your route and tak another route.
[20:52] <+Alexi> "Yah, dey did."
[20:52] <@BradGM> Roll survival again Alexi/Aithorn.
[20:53] <+Aithorn> !dhroll 51
[20:53] <Diceling> Aithorn: 5 Success by 4 degrees!
[20:53] <@BradGM> Whistles are blown from the riot. Minutes later you see half dozen watchmen running to the scene.
[20:54] <+Alexi> !dhroll 31
[20:54] <Diceling> Alexi: 14 Success by 1 degree!
[20:55] <@BradGM> Aithron, as you turned onto a 'boulevarD' of sort, there is enough sky for you to orient youself; you are currently moving toward the Suoth-East; you were previously going South-West, toward the Imperial palace. Alexi, you are pretty confortable to know your way back to the smoking Table without too much trouble.
[20:56] <@BradGM> The Area seems to start bcoming more merchant/artisans shops on the first floors of the houses now.
[20:56] <@BradGM> !dhroll 1d10
[20:56] <Diceling> BradGM: 13 Failure by 1 degree!
[20:56] <@BradGM> !roll 1d10
[20:56] <Diceling> BradGM: 9
[20:56] <@BradGM> Smell like leatherworks 'round ehre
[20:57] <+Aithorn> "If we start heading a bit more westerly, we should cross the Reik before long."
[20:59] <@Edgerrin> !dhroll 38
[20:59] <Diceling> Edgerrin: 89 Failure by 5 degrees!
[20:59] <@Edgerrin> (i hate u diceling)
[21:00] <+Aithorn> ((I assume we have a decent view of the top of the Imperial palace from here?))
[21:00] * +Siluvaine lets Aithorn point, the way, having gottne ocmpletely turned around.
[21:00] <@BradGM> Aithron led the way. Everyone roll perception, visual
[21:01] <+Siluvaine> !dhroll 70
[21:01] <Diceling> Siluvaine: 98 Failure by 2 degrees!
[21:01] <+Alexi> !dhroll 31
[21:01] <Diceling> Alexi: 97 Failure by 6 degrees!
[21:01] <+Aithorn> !dhroll 61
[21:01] <Diceling> Aithorn: 40 Success by 2 degrees!
[21:02] <@BradGM> Aithorn, as you go a bit more full south, you seems to be going form a middle class sector to 20 meters of 6 stories houses, followed by slightly rundown houses with beggars sitting in the streets.
[21:03] <@BradGM> !roll 1d10
[21:03] <Diceling> BradGM: 6
[21:07] * +Aithorn double checks their position relative to the Imperial Palace before setting off down the street trying not to trip over the people sitting in the street
[21:08] <@BradGM> You arrive at what appears to be the Altdorf docks. It reeks of open sewers. Sailors and Dock workers are everywhere, Foremen yells over the already constant yelling, loaders and singing while working, whores are whorin..
[21:08] <@BradGM> You can see the Imperial Palace's spires quit clearly now. You just need to corss the Reik.
[21:09] <@BradGM> ((BRB, dryer's done))
[21:09] * +Siluvaine keeps her mouth and nose covered, glancing around.
[21:11] <@BradGM> The Reik itself is rahter large, but it is 'populated' but numerous small islands. Incalculable numbers of bridges covers them, form the simple plank to a wide stone bridge of Dwarven construction, with even houses and shops on them!
[21:12] <+Aithorn> "See if we can find a bridge, I don't think any of us want to swim through ...this. Then let's try to find the Temple of Sigmar."
[21:12] <@BradGM> The locals are also...tough looking, being sailors and such. But they seems to care about you for now.
[21:13] <+Siluvaine> "I'm guessing there will be tolls..."
[21:14] <+Aithorn> "You can try to levitate across, but you will be washing your own robe if you lose concentration."
[21:14] * @Edgerrin keeps an eye out for trouble
[21:14] <@Edgerrin> "Ya culd probly just walk cross the river with all da filth in it."
[21:14] * +Aithorn is looking for bridges that won't require elven agility and don't look to have toll-takers
[21:15] <+Aithorn> ((reminds me of the time I lived next to the Ohio river....))
[21:15] <@BradGM> You can cross at numerous places really. The big stone bridge got no tolls, but the smaller ones has; some are nothing more than thugs stealing whoever passes, others are actually used to keep the birdge repaired.
[21:15] <+Aithorn> ((unless anyone objects, the big stone bridge it is?))
[21:15] <+Siluvaine> ((That's fine with me))
[21:16] <+Alexi> (works for me)
[21:17] * +Aithorn leads the group across the big stone bridge and on deeper into the city...
[21:18] <@BradGM> You take a detour and go for the stone bridge. The houses there and quite well made; some are Dwarven made even, while others, merely has the architecture.
[21:20] <@BradGM> You corss the reik and enter what is the Best part of Town; the Streets are paved in cut stones, the Watch is actually present, and thre is much more rich people with escorts walking around...but it is still as noisy and packed as ever with..
[21:20] <@BradGM> !roll 1d10
[21:20] <Diceling> BradGM: 2
[21:21] * +Siluvaine glances around, studying the architecture and the people. "Its nice but I Still don't see how they can stand the city."
[21:21] <@BradGM> ...the nice smell of good food, meat, potatoes, vegetalbes, pies, ducks etc etc being cooked fills your now-thanksful nostrils.
[21:21] <@BradGM> You also see the Temple of Sigmar, well the side of the massive building that is, right down the wide street form you.
[21:22] <@Edgerrin> !dhroll 38
[21:22] <Diceling> Edgerrin: 45 Failure by 0 degrees!
[21:22] <+Aithorn> "At least we know we are now up-wind of the fish..."
[21:22] <@BradGM> ((hhahaha, lucky roll; it could have smelled like vomit!))
[21:22] * +Siluvaine motions to something in the distance. "And there's the colleges."
[21:22] * @Edgerrin takes in the smell of the pies and drools
[21:23] <+Aithorn> ((because rotting fish is somehow better? ;))
[21:23] <@BradGM> ((well, less got the vomit jerk motion going with rotten fish than vomit))
[21:24] <+Aithorn> "If you are hungry, now is the time to get something, this Klemperer isn't expecting us"
[21:24] <@BradGM> You also notice the presence of high walls, like enclosed areas. By the presence of Heraldy and guards you think those are private domains
[21:26] <@BradGM> You reach the Grand Plaza in front of the Temple of Sigmar. Acorss form it, hundreds of emters waway, is the Imperial Palace. Between them, the Plaza is filled once again, if only wiht more religious zeal present, and dignitaries of all nations.
[21:26] * +Siluvaine keeps the cloth in place, who knows when the winds might change again. She keeps heading for the towers.
[21:26] <@Edgerrin> "We be in hi society now,"
[21:26] <@BradGM> Siluvaine, as you point out the Spires of the Celectial College, the others look at them, but seem totally oblivious/uncaring to them
[21:27] <+Aithorn> "We are near high society, I'm not sure these would let us in by choice."
[21:28] <@BradGM> Oh, the AREA is high brow a bit, but the strets are still filled wiht common folk; just that there is more rich poeple here than on the other side of the river.
[21:28] <@BradGM> And yes, there are Halflings selling meatpies for 5 pence.
[21:28] * @Edgerrin feigns dusting off the top of his shirt and smirks. 1"I be da pilar of class."
[21:28] <@BradGM> Even some selling meatpies for ONE pence!
[21:29] <@Edgerrin> ((mmmm rat pies))
[21:30] * @Edgerrin looks at one of the pence pies. 1"Dat be includin' de tail?"
[21:30] * +Siluvaine continues to move, heading for the towers.
[21:30] <@BradGM> Halfling "C'.mon buddy, take it or leave it!"
[21:31] <@BradGM> You all notice Siluvaine going in a direction toward some building, even passing Aithorn on point.
[21:31] * @Edgerrin walks by
[21:32] * @Edgerrin will try to catch up
[21:32] * +Aithorn tries to catch up to Edgerrin
[21:32] <@BradGM> Sil's on her horse, so she's sorta stand out.
[21:36] <@BradGM> ((Sorry, had to did some description in PM))
[21:38] <+Aithorn> "Do we know what sort of people these Celestial wizards are?"
[21:38] <@BradGM> You can reach her with ease Edgerrin, but you can't see where she's going; too much people, not enough legs.
[21:39] * +Alexi will follow
[21:39] * @Edgerrin will just do his best to keep up since Sil seems determined now
[21:40] * +Siluvaine tilts her head slightly, studying something as she continues on.
[21:43] <+Siluvaine> "Just don't try to trick them. And for all I know, they know we're coming."
[21:43] <+Alexi> "Hy dun gotz to say anyting. Hy'm chust de muscle."
[21:44] <@BradGM> Siluvaine, you arrive at the door. As you go to knock, it opens and a guard shows up "Yes, are you expected?"
[21:46] * +Siluvaine tilts her head and considers what she knows about the wizards. "Maybe? We're here to talk to Dieter Klemperer."
[21:48] <@BradGM> The Guard checks on a paper "No, but those things happen, Pelase do come in and wait in inside, I'll get a stable boy to get your horse throught the back door." *He turns as a young man comes in form a side door.* "Ah, there you are; we got a horse to get taken out back."
[21:48] <@BradGM> The Stable boy comes to take your horse throught the back door Siluvaine.
[21:49] * +Siluvaine dismounts and lets her horse go for now and heads inside.
[21:50] * +Aithorn heads in also trying to take in the sights
[21:50] <+Aithorn> ((didn't we have a letter of introduction from the professor?))
[21:50] * @Edgerrin will follow
[21:50] <@BradGM> As you all get inside and the door closes, the smell and sound of the outside seases. The air is now pure, like atop a mountain. The blue tainted decoration puts you in a calmin, relaxed mood.
[21:51] <@BradGM> ((yes))
[21:51] <@BradGM> ((you got one for him, and one from both Stolz for the Temple of Sigmar if needed and one from Ranulf for the temple of Ulric.
[21:53] <@BradGM> It takes a minute before another guard shows up "He's here."
[21:53] * +Aithorn breathes deeply "That's a nice trick, I wonder if we can take it with us?"
[21:54] <@BradGM> Guard 1 "All right, just down the hall, 3rd hall on your right, then up the left stairs 3 floors, second door on your left."
[21:54] * +Siluvaine relaxes and gets the letter out and stuffs the cloth she's been breathing through away. "Thank you.' She says to the guard as she moves to follow him.
[21:55] <+Siluvaine> "Thank you."
[21:55] * +Siluvaine starts to follow the directions, glancing around curiously.
[21:55] * +Aithorn goes along
[21:56] <@BradGM> Apart from clsoed doors, you see numerous small reading rooms with small bookshelves, Observatories that gives out into the open sky, despite bing on the first floor, and an open room with desks and bookshelves.
[21:57] <@BradGM> Neither of the two guards seems to follow you or stop you.
[21:57] * +Siluvaine raises an eyebrow curiously. "That's impressive," she murmurs as she walks past the observatories, looking for the 3rd hall on the right.
[21:58] <+Aithorn> "I wonder if they could give me a glimpse of home?"
[21:58] <@BradGM> You find it, it's at an X
[21:59] <@BradGM> There is no one there yet.
[22:00] * +Siluvaine takes the right, heading down the hallway, looking for the stairs up. "Maybe."
[22:01] <@BradGM> You reach the stairs, which are actually 3 sets going left, straight and right.
[22:02] * +Siluvaine takes the left ones. "Everyone keeping up? I don't think you want to get ilost in here."
[22:03] <+Alexi> "Dun tink hy vant to keep up, eider."
[22:03] * +Alexi keeps the pace
[22:03] <@BradGM> 3 floors later, you reach a corridor that stretches out for about a mile.
[22:03] <@BradGM> And no siluvaine, the building outide is not a mile long.
[22:04] * +Siluvaine keeps herself from whistling in amazement and starts walking down the hallway, looking for the second door on the left.
[22:05] * +Aithorn follows half expecting doors to start appearing and disappearing at random along the hall
[22:05] <@BradGM> It's 10 meters away. As you go close you can hear a neutral, almost bored, "Come in" form inside.
[22:06] * @Edgerrin is a little amazed, confused and bewildered by all the goings on.
[22:06] <@BradGM> ((No, Aithorn, now is the Scooby-doo Door scene moment we're all waiting for.))
[22:06] <+Aithorn> ((YES! And i would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you meddling adventurers!))
[22:07] <@BradGM> ((it's only the start of book 2 so who knows what awaits!))
[22:07] * +Siluvaine puts her hand down from where she was going ot knock and heads inside.
[22:11] <@BradGM> THe inetrior is of a lighter blue, but still as calming The ceiling seems domed, out to 5 meters above you, over a nightsky those familiar with it do not recognise. A young servant is finishing putting empty pitcher on a side table, near a small barrel of ale. Behind a large golden telescope, sits a old man of 70 years, with a long, whit beard and equaly long and white hair. He wears a blue robes flooded with silver symbols of comets, crescent moons and stars.
[22:11] <@BradGM> ((like a kid's pyjama))
[22:12] <@BradGM> The servant bows and leave the room. The old man speaks. "I believe you got something for me."
[22:12] * +Siluvaine pulls the letter out and hands it over.
[22:14] <@BradGM> Klemperer looks at the name "Ah, yes, Zweistein. No doubt another dangerous situation involving ancient relic no one should have tampered with?"
[22:15] <+Alexi> "Vell to be fair, hit vos doink de tamprin' fust."
[22:15] <+Aithorn> "It rather tampered with us first, I think. But close enough."
[22:15] * +Siluvaine nods and folds her arms.
[22:16] <@BradGM> He moves, a little humbed to his desk and sits. "Yes, you can drink, if you are thristy." *He vaguely looks at the ale barrel and the 5 empty tankards there.
[22:16] <@BradGM> He reaeds the letter.
[22:16] * @Edgerrin eyes the barrel
[22:16] * +Aithorn "Thank you." and moves to the barrel
[22:18] * +Siluvaine does the same, pouring herself a tankard and taking a sip to clear her throat of the taste of the city's air.
[22:19] <@BradGM> Klemperer draws but the slightest impresssion of surprise as he reads "Hm. An intresting turn of events in Middenheim."
[22:19] * @Edgerrin halps himself to a mug, drinks it down then wipes the foam from his mouth with a satisifed sound.
[22:22] <@BradGM> *Everyone, roll either charm or gossip, whichever's either

[22:23] * @Edgerrin is too busy drinking to charm anyone
[22:24] <@BradGM> Klemperer "My social days are far over, having moved to a higher purpose than mere mingling."
[22:25] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Of course, I do have a few friends left that I can call upon to provide you beteer assistance."
[22:26] <+Siluvaine> "That would be helpful. These..events are often complex."
[22:27] <@BradGM> Klemperer looks at you all "You and the Kislevite may survive the Social battlefield of Altdorf thanks to your charm and fashion, but I fear you other companions may be nothing more than mere adventuers."
[22:28] <+Alexi> "Hy yam always goot on der battlefield."
[22:29] <+Siluvaine> "I hope to do the Wizard's Guild proud."
[22:29] * +Aithorn is surprisingly ok with being a "mere adventurer"
[22:29] * @Edgerrin ignores the comment
[22:30] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Nothing more is expected of them, rare one would elevate over thier chosen station and surprise."
[22:30] <@BradGM> Klemperer "The Wizard's Guild is natuarally a prestigious center of learning, but one must focus on a Wind to trive in the Arts."
[22:31] * +Siluvaine nods. "Of course. I hope to make my decision soon."
[22:31] <+Aithorn> "Do you know anybody who would appreciate a good tale of mere battlefield valor?"
[22:32] * @Edgerrin pours another mug and leans next to Aithorn. 1"Me thinks dat these learned folks sumtime's sit on their big brains as cushions. 6he whipsers
[22:34] <+Siluvaine> "I wonder if the Temples will be as accommodating."
[22:34] <@BradGM> Klemperer "I would not be of help were not taking this in consideration." *He takes out a piece of paper and a writing kit "One of my friend, Lord Frederik, not only knows numerous people around the City, but adores hearing tales of battle against Chaos. He even has a good collection of items related to fighting Chaos- naturally, he refused anything tainted."
[22:35] * +Aithorn whispers back "Their heads are so far in the clouds, I'm surprised the doorposts are so low."
[22:36] <+Aithorn> "Naturally."
[22:37] <@Edgerrin> "Tales o' battle. sounds like me kind og guy."
[22:38] <+Aithorn> "I'm sure we'll enjoy sharing a few good 2 pint tales with him."
[22:40] <@BradGM> Klemperer writes down a letter and seals it off. "Here, you can find his domain exactly 234 steps right from the back door. His blazon is rather impressive, if you have an intrest in such things."
[22:41] <+Aithorn> ((one, two, ...many..., ... ... lots!))
[22:42] <+Siluvaine> "Oh? What is it?"
[22:44] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Obviously, due to his family being of Ostland, and powerful, they have married with numerous noble houses."
[22:47] <@BradGM> Klemperer "It has more than 35 partitions within it, to describe it would the afternoon."
[22:48] <+Siluvaine> "I see. That is rather..impressive."
[22:50] <+Siluvaine> "If we get the dagger, should we bring it here?"
[22:52] <+Siluvaine> ((Brb))
[22:52] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Do not worry about such things for now; find the dagger first. If it is still present"
[22:54] <+Aithorn> "We'll find it anyways, it needs to be destroyed before it causes any more problems. We'll just have to see how far we have to go before we bring it back here."
[22:55] <+Siluvaine> "Or maybe not destroyed, but neutralized."
[22:56] <@BradGM> Klemperer "No, there is no maybe. Your companion speaks truth; it must be destroyed."
[22:58] <+Siluvaine> "Oh I know, I just think it probably needs to be destroyed in tbe right way.'
[22:59] <@BradGM> Klemperer simply nods in accordance.
[22:59] <@BradGM> Or more in a "I know that, I'm a Wizard mind you"
[23:01] <+Siluvaine> "Somehow I suspect the churches won't be as accommodating."
[23:01] <@BradGM> Klemperer gives the letter to Siluvaine.
[23:01] * +Siluvaine tucks it away. "Thank you."
[23:04] <+Siluvaine> "Is there anything else yuou can think we might need?"
[23:05] * +Aithorn nods his head, "Thank you for the lead, is there something we can do to repay your kindness?"
[23:05] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Nothing, if only new clothes and a bath."
[23:06] * +Siluvaine wrinkles her nose. "If we can find someplace to stay."
[23:08] <@BradGM> Klemperer "In Altdorf, hotels are for sleeping. There are some in in grand plaza, or across the Reik in the popular district."
[23:09] <+Siluvaine> "We'll keep that in mind. I guess we'll visit your friend first, then the churches."
[23:10] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Elementary."
[23:11] * +Siluvaine nods. "Thank you for the help. Uh. How do we find the backdoor to this place?"
[23:12] <@BradGM> Klemperer "3 floors down, then right, then first right, then it's the double doors to your left."
[23:14] * +Aithorn is hoping they encounter a page in the halls before they have to break out rations and start a campfire in the hallway."
[23:17] * +Siluvaine nods and thanks the wizard again for his help and finishes her ale before starting the navigation out.
[23:18] <@BradGM> ((too bad it oens't work qute like that Aithorn...))
[23:18] <@BradGM> ((Sil; not dverging fomr the path?))
[23:19] <+Siluvaine> ((Hell no. She doesn't want ot wind up in some alternate dimension!))
[23:20] <+Aithorn> ((A dimension of sight, a dimension of mind, you've just crossed over into the twilight zone!))
[23:20] <+Siluvaine> ((The entire tower is a TARDIS!))
[23:21] <@BradGM> ((No, no..))
[23:21] <@BradGM> ((the light college is actually in a pocket dimenion))
[23:21] <@BradGM> ((this one is the rather sorta normal one))
[23:23] <+Siluvaine> ((heh))
[23:24] * +Siluvaine follows the instructions exactly, though she does look around quite a bit.
[23:25] <+Aithorn> ((Brad, what time of day is it now, does it make more sense to find Frederick first? or find rooms for the night?))
[23:25] <@BradGM> ((It would be about 6-6:30 PM or so.))
[23:26] <@BradGM> ((still got 2½-3 hours of sunlight left))
[23:27] <+Aithorn> ((gotcha))
[23:27] <+Siluvaine> ((Hmm. Might be better to get rooms at this point..who knows how long that might take))
[23:28] <+Siluvaine> ((then again, finding the backdoor again might be annoying :) ))
[23:29] <@BradGM> ((Hey ow..the college ain't no hotel))
[23:30] <+Aithorn> ((no camping trip in the clean air? phooey))
[23:31] <+Siluvaine> ((well no. I'm just saying that since we only have directions to the guy's place from the backdoor of the wizard's tower..and for all we know, the tower might not be exactly there the next day :) ))
[23:32] <@BradGM> You reach the back door; past them, the stable boy is there is the small court yard with you horse, ready to go. Te odour of hot delicious food enters your nostrils with force, while the ever present talking masses buzz you in the ears.
[23:33] <@BradGM> ((And..ok if we stop it here for toight?))
[23:33] <+Aithorn> ((sounds good))
[23:34] <+Siluvaine> ((Sounds good. she was about to ask about a recommendation for wher to stay and eat from the stableboy, but that works :) )
[23:34] <@BradGM> *End of Session*
[22:22] <+Alexi> !dhroll 28
[22:22] <Diceling> Alexi: 34 Failure by 0 degrees!
[22:22] <@BradGM> Klemperer "Naturally, you have my limited help in this matter."
[22:23] <+Siluvaine> !dhroll 53 (Gossip))
[22:23] <Diceling> Siluvaine: 43 Success by 1 degree!
[22:23] <+Aithorn> !dhroll 15

[22:23] <@Edgerrin> !dhroll 7
[22:23] <Diceling> Edgerrin: 55 Failure by 4 degrees!
