The Other Side of Nowhere

Session 10 - Crossroads

RECAP

[17:22] <@ENGM> So when we last left the crew, you had made the jump from Crazy Ivan's on your way to Ghandi. While in jump space weird stuff started to happen...
[17:22] <+Nevka> I blame the Zhodani!
[17:23] <@ENGM> Your radio started going haywire and blew your pilot across the bridge. Strange women started appearing in the lounge and the cargo bay, you picked up weird transmissions from a long lost ship and to top it off you have a weird patch of fog in the cargo bay hugging the bay doors...
[17:24] <@ENGM> So now you’re all outside the cargo bay wondering what to do next...
[17:24] <@ENGM> questions?
[17:25] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((I'm good))
[17:25] <@ENGM> everyone have a channel?
[17:26] <+SamuraiHanson> ((when in panic or in doubt: run in circles! scream! and shout!))
[17:26] <@ENGM> heh
[17:26] <@ENGM> ok then....

GAME START

[17:28] <@ENGM> The crew is currently gathered outside the cargo bay entry.
[17:28] <+SamuraiHanson> ((I vote that Dirk enter all doors first from now on))
[17:30] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((I second that motion))
[17:30] <@ENGM> It is the 6th day of jump 2000 hrs STT
[17:30] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Right so..Codeword Boyardee, right? Well, if that fog draws us into that lost vessel, then we would need to perhaps get it out of its' troubles?"
[17:30] <+DirkVonTowers> ((I third that!))
[17:30] <+SamuraiHanson> "Nevka, how much spare parts do you keep on board?"
[17:30] <+DirkVonTowers> "Maybe it’s a portal? Now this is the kind of vacation I was looking for!"
[17:31] <+Nevka> "It depends on what you need parts for. The engine? Not enough to rebuild it."
[17:31] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "I doubt whatever hails them is far from enjoyable time, Dirk."
[17:33] <+SamuraiHanson> "A transmitter actually, doesn't need to be a powerful one. But if they are sending transmissions, we might be able to send something back if we can send it through the cloud."
[17:34] <+SamuraiHanson> "Just trying to preserve the ship's comm if we need it."
[17:34] <+Nevka> "We should have something that could work, yes."
[17:35] <+SamuraiHanson> "We can get portable comm down here then, and mount the antenna on a pole we can run the antenna *through* the cloud and see how that works."
[17:36] <Caleb> "Didn't the comm get fried?"
[17:36] <+SamuraiHanson> "That's why we need to build a new one with a different antenna"
[17:37] *Caleb nods
[17:37] <+DirkVonTowers> "And with the volume turned down at first."
[17:38] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Can we make another one?"
[17:39] <+SamuraiHanson> "If Nevka says she has the parts, then all it is is time. Unless you have a better idea...."
[17:41] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "No yours sounds less based on assumptions than mine."
[17:42] <+SamuraiHanson> "Let's not jump to conclusions yet, I'm off to get my tools."
[17:44] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Well, I shall help Nevka gather what is needed."
[17:44] * +Nevka nods and goes to get the parts.
[17:44] * +DirkVonTowers peers through the window.
[17:45] * +Thomas_J_Atkins helps Nevka.
[17:45] * +SamuraiHanson heads off to gather his tools and meet back at the cargo bay
[17:46] <@ENGM> ((Who's putting the device together?))
[17:47] <+SamuraiHanson> ((I will))
[17:47] <+SamuraiHanson> ((given how many times I rolled comms in my service record it seems only right))
[17:49] <@ENGM> You manage to cobble something pretty decent together.
[17:50] <Caleb> "How should we test it?"
[17:51] <+DirkVonTowers> "Turn it on and see if it works for us?"
[17:51] *Caleb smirks. "Of course but we have to have something to send a signal to"
[17:52] <+SamuraiHanson> "We could build a second one, but that seems repetitious."
[17:52] <+DirkVonTowers> ((do the survival suits have radios?))
[17:52] <@ENGM> ((short range yes))
[17:53] <+DirkVonTowers> "Survival suits?"
[17:53] <@ENGM> ((and what are called Fireflys. a device that sends a homing/distress signal that has a better range))
[17:55] <+Sebastian`> "We could also try the hand held comms"
[17:56] * +DirkVonTowers heads to snag one to test.
[17:58] <@ENGM> There's one available here.
[17:59] * +DirkVonTowers glances at the jury-rigged transmitter as he turns on the comm, turning down the volume. "Shall we see?"
[17:59] <+SamuraiHanson> "Alright, get yourself ready and hold on to your butts."
[18:00] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Why would hanging onto that be of any help?"
[18:00] * +SamuraiHanson leans away from the transmitter and flicks it on. "Pop, pop, popsicle. Ice, ice, icicle. Test, test.... yeah, it works"
[18:01] <+SamuraiHanson> "Because if it doesn't, you're in a good position to kiss it goodbye."
[18:02] * +SamuraiHanson chuckles at his own joke and fiddles with some of the knobs
[18:02] <@ENGM> You do the standard phone test "Hello dr. Watson can you hear me." It transmits to all the operating comms including the vacc suits.
[18:02] <@ENGM> Nobody gets blown back this time.
[18:03] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Sounds about right for me."
[18:06] <+SamuraiHanson> "Now the real question: who wants to walk with the antenna?"
[18:06] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Back into the bay? I can handle that."
[18:07] <+Sebastian`> "Aren't you the expert on the mic?"
[18:10] <@ENGM> ((Thomas going back in?))
[18:11] * +DirkVonTowers knows better than to volunteer.
[18:12] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> “I am.”
[18:12] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((wasn't sure if Seb was talking to me or Sam))
[18:12] <@ENGM> Sam
[18:12] <@ENGM> sorry
[18:14] <@ENGM> ((ok whoever is going in let me know what you’re doing))
[18:15] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((I'm going in. I’m planning on hooking myself the closet to the exit as posible before closing the distance to the fog))
[18:16] <@ENGM> Thomas finds a hook in the floor a meter from the door to hook into. He then is free to proceed towards the outer bay doors.
[18:16] <@ENGM> The radio is the size of a small boom box.
[18:17] <@ENGM> looks like an old HAM set up.
[18:18] * +Thomas_J_Atkins gives himself some loose, before approaching the fog
[18:19] * +Thomas_J_Atkins tries to listen for the transmission once more
[18:19] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((and what was the name of the ship again? ISS something-something?))
[18:20] <@ENGM> Your lanyard is a good 25-30 meters in length and is spooled. You’re able to anchor it before you proceed.
[18:20] <@ENGM> ((Ecliptic))
[18:21] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((I only have Demolition, the closest thing to use comm that I got))
[18:21] * +Thomas_J_Atkins anchor himself every meter or so
[18:22] <@ENGM> Thomas is able to manipulate the dials to reacquire the signal from the ship. The signal is the same as last time and repeats itself on a continuous loop.
[18:23] <@ENGM> ((how far in you go?))
[18:23] * +SamuraiHanson gets up to the window to the cargo bay to see how things are going.
[18:23] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((to a couple of meters of it. I was inches form it when I hear it that last time))
[18:23] <@ENGM> so two meters?
[18:23] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((yes))
[18:25] * +Thomas_J_Atkins contacts the others "I got the signal once more. Still the same, on a loop."
[18:25] <@ENGM> The signal strength from the ship stays the same. As you get closer you see the fog/mist start to swirl again and you feel a tug on the radio. The mist then starts to slowly bulge out from the center towards you.
[18:25] <+Nevka> "Try and transmit."
[18:26] <@ENGM> so the center of the mist starts to pop out like someone is tugging on it making a cone approaching you.
[18:27] * +Thomas_J_Atkins holds the radio tighter and transmit "ISS Ecliptic. Come in Ecliptic. This is Lucky Strike. Do you copy, over?"
[18:27] <@ENGM> The same signal repeats itself.
[18:28] <@ENGM> The lights starts to flicker and dim in the bay.
[18:28] * +Thomas_J_Atkins gets away from the mist "Ecliptic, this is Lucky Strike. Codeword Boyardee, I repeat, codeword Boyardee. Do you copy, over."
[18:29] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((I remember that part!))
[18:29] <@ENGM> Same signal. The mist is getting closer.
[18:29] <+DirkVonTowers> ((heh))
[18:30] * +DirkVonTowers watches in fascination.
[18:30] * +SamuraiHanson looks around the corridor just long enough to make sure the strange woman isn't standing RIGHT BEHIND THEM....
[18:30] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((JUMP SCARES!!!))
[18:31] <@ENGM> You start to get sucked in but are able to reverse your course by way of all the places you tied yourself to. You are also able to keep a hold on the radio.
[18:32] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((did the Boyardee code landed anything?))
[18:32] <@ENGM> Tendrils of mist seemed to try to grab the radio before you pulled away.
[18:32] <@ENGM> ((no))
[18:32] <@ENGM> ((that was for the crew here))

06[18:33] * +Thomas_J_Atkins contacts the others, his feet starting to loose contact with the ground "Well, the fog seems quite insistent on having me and the radio in, but nothing came out of it apart from the same looping Mayday."
[18:35] <+Sebastian`> "What if we tossed a hand held in to see what happens?"
[18:36] <+SamuraiHanson> "It's worth a shot. I had thought just rebuilding a transmitter and trying to send would be enough."
[18:36] <+Nevka> "We have spares. Try it."
[18:36] <@ENGM> ((There is no strange woman around Sam))
[18:36] <+DirkVonTowers> "Much more interesting than being poisoned, wouldn't you say?"
[18:36] * +Sebastian` opens the doors and tosses Thomas a radio.
[18:37] <+Sebastian`> ((actually slides it across the floor to him.
[18:37] * +Thomas_J_Atkins grabs it and 'hands' it over to the fog.
[18:38] <@ENGM> The fog reaches out and snaps the radio out of Thomas's hand.
[18:41] <@ENGM> The fog grabs the radio and Thomas's arm and pulls it and him in. Thomas disappears and into the swirling mist.
[18:41] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((so much for that cable then..)
[18:42] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((turns out I'm still there))
[18:42] <@ENGM> The cable holds a foot from the bay doors. Thomas is gone but the cable is there as well as the bigger radio on the floor about 2 meters from the mist
[18:43] * +DirkVonTowers moves towards the door. "Ooops."
[18:44] <+Nevka> "How the hell are we going to explain this?"
[18:45] <@ENGM> Nevka you hear a voice on your vacc suit comm
[18:46] <@ENGM> ##Hello, Hello, Can anyone hear me? Hello?##
[18:46] <+Nevka> ##Hello, this is Captain Nevka of the Lucky Strike. Can you hear me?##
[18:47] <@ENGM> [18:47] <Thomas_J_Atkins>## "It's me, Atkins! I'm in the fog, it cannot pull me further in, thanks to the lifeline."##
[18:48] <+Sebastian`> "Shall we reel him in?"
[18:48] <+Nevka> ##Can you find your way back?##
[18:48] <+DirkVonTowers> ##What do you see?"
[18:49] <@ENGM> You see a pair of arms appear out of the fog grabbing onto the cable. Soon Thomas's torso is visible.
[18:50] <@ENGM> And after that he reaches the first rung
[18:50] <+SamuraiHanson> "Were you still on the ship? Or did you go somewhere else?"
[18:51] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "I was in a thick fog bank really. The power that pulled me was not able to drag me fruther, thanks to being securely lined. I could hear Nevka calling, but there was heavy interference."
[18:52] * +Thomas_J_Atkins looks around for the jury-rigged radio. "I have also lost Samurai's radio.."
[18:52] <@ENGM> ((no it’s on the floor))
[18:52] <+DirkVonTowers> "What about the hand hold one?"
[18:52] <@ENGM> ((The Gerry rigged one))
[18:53] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Ha, there is it....This one I have lost all trace. but I can assume it went whereever it was supposed to. We can try to contact it."
[18:55] <+SamuraiHanson> "I wonder if we can boost the signal somehow."
[18:56] * +DirkVonTowers tries to contact the hand held.
[18:56] <@ENGM> ((you can give it a go. You going in or is Thomas bringing the unit back out?))
[18:56] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Well, I can always pass you the radio and you can work on it, see what can be done."
[18:56] <@ENGM> ((Dirk you using your comm unit?))
[18:57] <+DirkVonTowers> ((yeah))
[18:58] <+DirkVonTowers> ##Ecliptic Come in please."
[18:59] <@ENGM> You get the same weak repeating signal but nothing else.
[19:00] <+DirkVonTowers> "Maybe the other signal is too strong?"
[19:00] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "So boosting the signal then?"
[19:01] <@ENGM> ((How do you want to boost it?))
[19:01] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((by giving it to Sam))
[19:01] <+SamuraiHanson> ((putting it on a stepladder?))
[19:02] * +Thomas_J_Atkins exits the Bay
[19:02] <@ENGM> The cargo bay is now empty. The mist reverts back to the swirly thing hugging the doors.
[19:03] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Here Sam, if adjusting the signal doesn't work, then perhaps going in is what must be done. That or starting to work on repairing our computer and comm."
[19:03] <+DirkVonTowers> ((hmm, would I be able to help with the computer or boosting with Computer 2 ?))
[19:04] <+SamuraiHanson> "We still have power, we might be able to boost it that way."
[19:04] <@ENGM> ((you can assist dirk))
[19:06] <@ENGM> The distress signal comes in clear now but you get no other transmissions. Any link to the hand held can’t be reestablished.
[19:08] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Well, at least the static is gone, now we can hear the looped message with crystal-clear clarity."
[19:08] <@ENGM> The voice on the recording sounds automated and not a real voice.
[19:09] <+SamuraiHanson> "If we live through this, I'll take that result. Let's try sending again from here. If we can put the antenna on a pole and transmit directly into the cloud, we won't need to get so close. "
[19:10] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Yes, but nothing a good harness cannot help countering."
[19:10] <+SamuraiHanson> "Y'know, or just throw the antenna itself into the cloud."
[19:11] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Hmmm.. an interesting idea."
[19:11] <+DirkVonTowers> "Maybe we'll do that second time."
[19:13] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "But that would mean someone would need to be inside the bay once more. How long a wire can we have for that antenna? We may need more that a meter's worth of wire."
[19:14] <@ENGM> ((your cable was 25m))
[19:14] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((yeah but was the loose on it that much?))
[19:14] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> (('should have checked how far I was in...))
[19:15] <@ENGM> ((Well you can unhook it and start further in))
[19:15] <+SamuraiHanson> ((in the famous words of Scotty, "Drop yer pants captain and try to impress them!))
[19:16] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "So back into the Bay then."
[19:16] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((It's ok folks! The butler will do it. The Butler always does it!))
[19:18] <@ENGM> The doors are open.
[19:18] * +Thomas_J_Atkins enters the bay, and clips himself closer to the fog, being only 10 meters away this time around.
[19:18] <@ENGM> you have the radio?
[19:19] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((Or the antenna with a long, long line of wire: depends if Sam did it and we got the material))
[19:19] * +DirkVonTowers watches.
[19:20] <+SamuraiHanson> ((I did, or thought I did, rig it with the extra-long antenna))
[19:20] <@ENGM> you can hook comm wire to the antenna.
[19:20] <@ENGM> the ship has lots of that.
[19:21] <@ENGM> an entire spool.
[19:21] * +Thomas_J_Atkins approaches the fog, with the antenna connected to a spool of comm wire.
[19:21] <@ENGM> is someone transmitting?
[19:21] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((ah so we can have the classic line unrolling from spool scene))
[19:22] <+SamuraiHanson> ##Ecliptic, come in. Can anybody hear me?##
[19:22] <@ENGM> what are you doing with the antenna Thomas?
[19:22] * +Thomas_J_Atkins hangs it toward the fog, even going as far as putting it in.
[19:23] <@ENGM> As you extend the antenna towards the fog it reaches out and sucks it in.
[19:23] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((OR more, I just let it get sucked))
[19:24] <@ENGM> it rips the antenna out of your hand and sucks it in.
[19:24] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "The antenna's in!"
[19:24] <@ENGM> the wire spool starts spinning and then suddenly stops.
[19:24] <@ENGM> it goes slack.
[19:24] * +Thomas_J_Atkins check if the wire is gauged.
[19:25] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((is in the measurement of it))
[19:25] <@ENGM> it’s not marked.
[19:26] * +Thomas_J_Atkins pulls is back into the Bay, wrapping it 'round his forearm, counting one for every wrap around.
[19:27] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Anything on your end Sam?"
[19:27] <@ENGM> You loop about 5 meters before you get to the frayed end.
[19:27] <+SamuraiHanson> "Nothing here, you?"
[19:27] <@ENGM> The antenna is gone.
[19:28] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Well, I can explain your lack of progress: The antenna is missing."
[19:29] <+Nevka> "Well that's an argument for not proceeding farther in."
[19:29] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "It got sucked in a good 5 meters before the wire got slacked as well."
[19:29] <+DirkVonTowers> "Seems like a pretty good one. "
[19:29] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((by flayed end, you mean it was ripped from the wire?))
[19:29] <@ENGM> yes.
[19:30] <@ENGM> The cable tore was not cut.
[19:31] * +Thomas_J_Atkins gets the spool and exits the bay.
[19:31] <+SamuraiHanson> "Normally, I'm the one who goes places, but this one is a bit beyond me."
[19:33] * +Thomas_J_Atkins brings the wire to the others "Ripped from the line. Of course that could be anything."
[19:34] <+Nevka> "Well if there is someone on the other end, they weren't patient."
[19:34] <+SamuraiHanson> "Nothing I want to meet when it tries the same on a man!"
[19:35] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "What, some monster..from outer space?"
[19:35] <+SamuraiHanson> "How many other fog-people have you met out here?"
[19:36] <+Sebastian`> "I can't imagine..."
[19:37] <+Sebastian`> "Thomas the short time you were in the fog were you accosted in any way?"
[19:37] * +Thomas_J_Atkins seems skeptical "Not often, I will admit that.."
[19:37] <+Sebastian`> "What was it like?"
[19:37] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "No, I was just floating into a fog bank, and I pulled myself out, I was not being ripped apart."
[19:38] * +Sebastian` nods
[19:38] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Yet again, I did not stay to enjoy the scenery."
[19:41] <Caleb> "Maybe we can rig a probe"
[19:42] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "And reel it in."
[19:43] <Caleb> "I was thinking something on a cart in we can find one."
[19:44] <+DirkVonTowers> "Better connection? Do we have chain?
[19:44] <Caleb> "We have to push it in and maybe attach it to a real. But something with a transponder or giving some radio feedback. The hand held only would pick up noise around it"
[19:46] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "We can use the Bay hitch to reel it. It is designed to lift and hold 4 tons."
[19:46] *Caleb looks at Nevka. "Do we have anything or do the kids have any remote control toys?"
[19:47] <+Nevka> "There was that RC plane I was going to give Carla... We can use that."
[19:48] <Caleb> "Sam can you hook a second radio up to that?"
[19:48] <+SamuraiHanson> "Yeah, radios, flying, flying radios. No problem. Give me a second."
[19:49] * +SamuraiHanson makes the adjustments and hands it over.
[19:49] <Caleb> "Nev, where’s the plane I'll go get it"
[19:51] <+Nevka> "I stored it under the captain's chair to keep the girls from finding it."
[19:51] *Caleb leaves to go get it. He returns a short time later and hands the box to Nevka.
[19:52] * +Thomas_J_Atkins looks about the making of the probe.
[19:52] * +Nevka will take the radio controller out and hand the plane to Thomas.
[19:53] <@ENGM> Who wants to roll to put it together.
[19:54] <@ENGM> Sam rigs a portable radio to the RC plane with no problem.
[19:54] <@ENGM> Thomas is waiting at the doors for it.
[19:54] <@ENGM> Who’s flying it?
[19:55] <+SamuraiHanson> "Try to bring her back in one piece."
[19:55] <@ENGM> Thomas you flying it?
[19:56] <+SamuraiHanson> ((I'll fly it))
[19:56] <@ENGM> ok you'll have to step into the bay.
[19:57] <+Sebastian`> "Hey before you launch. Can we strap a camera to it?"
[19:58] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Yes..footage can be useful."
[19:59] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((and profitable too!))
[20:00] <+DirkVonTowers> "See, now this is a vacation."
[20:00] <+DirkVonTowers> "As long as half the ship isn't sucked into the void."
[20:01] * +Thomas_J_Atkins gives the plane back to Sam.
[20:03] * +SamuraiHanson tests the controls a bit before looping the drone into the cargo bay and into the fog cloud.
[20:05] <@ENGM> The plane takes off. It circles the bay a few times as Sam tests it then it plunges into the fog bank.
[20:08] <@ENGM> You hear the buzz of the RC engine as it flies thru the fog then you hear a thud and all goes quiet.
[20:09] <+DirkVonTowers> ((Were we streaming the footage?))
[20:10] <@ENGM> ((no. no one hooked a camera up))
[20:10] <+Nevka> ((should have been))
[20:12] * +SamuraiHanson takes a look into the cargo bay to see if it just hit the far wall and is on the ground now.
[20:12] <@ENGM> Sam doesn’t see the plane and is sure it went into the fog.
[20:13] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((yeah I passed it to Sam and he didn't hooked it up))
[20:15] <+SamuraiHanson> "Well, let's try the radio then."
[20:15] <+DirkVonTowers> ((does it transmit any flight data?))
[20:15] <+SamuraiHanson> ((Is the drone giving any feedback through the remote?))
[20:15] <@ENGM> No. After the thud it went silent.
[20:17] <@ENGM> You could hear the drone of the motor as it flew into the mist. It got fuzzy after it entered but you could still hear it. Then you heard the thud.
[20:18] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> ((How far is the bay door behind the fog?))
[20:18] <@ENGM> Hugging it.
[20:20] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "Nothing on the receiver? Or the remote?"
[20:20] <+SamuraiHanson> "Nothing on the remote that I can tell."
[20:21] <@ENGM> The radio seems to be dead. Sam can’t tell if the controls are actually attached to anything anymore.
[20:22] <+Nevka> "Attach a camera to the cable and let the fog pull it in then."
[20:22] <+Nevka> "Make sure it can transmit back."
[20:23] <+SamuraiHanson> "Yes, captain."
[20:24] * +SamuraiHanson gets the camera connection ready.
[20:24] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "IT may well get sucked right in and get lost. "Perhaps you need to be alive to past whatever threshold there is beyond."
[20:24] <+Nevka> "Then at least we'll see the remains of the plane."
[20:25] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "If it can function that long."
[20:25] <+DirkVonTowers> "I wonder how much of the ship we can fit through there..."
[20:26] <@ENGM> ((its bigger on the inside))
[20:27] <+SamuraiHanson> ((You can get the whole ship through... piece by piece. The real trick is reassembling it on the otherside before you run out of air))
[20:29] <@ENGM> ((so what’s the plan?))
[20:30] <+Nevka> ((send a damn camera on a cable through so we can watch what happens before it hits something or the cable gets torn. Make sure it can transmit back to us))
[20:31] <+SamuraiHanson> ((yeah, with Nevka on this one))
[20:31] <@ENGM> ok
[20:32] <+Thomas_J_Atkins> "If we are sending a camera in, then we’d better reel it in rather than letting it go."
[20:32] *Caleb will take a security camera and hook it up to a cable spool. He askes Sam to hook it up to the computer system.
[20:33] <@ENGM> the camera is spliced into the security system of the ship
[20:34] <@ENGM> You can watch it on the monitor in the bay control room computer station.
[20:34] <+SamuraiHanson> ((agreed, might be better to find out what's on the other side of the fog next time))
[20:34] <@ENGM> Who sends it in.
[20:34] * +Thomas_J_Atkins is ready to reel in the camera.
[20:35] <@ENGM> Thomas goes into the bay with the camera.
[20:35] * +Thomas_J_Atkins hooks himself 10 meters away,
[20:35] <@ENGM> how close does he get?
[20:36] <@ENGM> Thomas spools out the cable withe the camera. Caleb put it on rollers. As it gets closer the camera gets sucked in and Thomas starts to go with it.......
