Elana was originally born on the Agri-World of Tephaine Minor in the Adrantes Sub-Sector, yet orphaned early in her life when both her parents, at that time serving in the Tephaine System Defense Forces, were called to join the Margin Crusade. Their troopship, the Solus Bellum, was shot down and declared lost with all hands. After news of her parents' death in the name of the Emperor reached the Calixis Sector, Elana gained the right to enter the Scholae Progenium. Her aunt and uncle eagerly handed the child over to the Ministorum, relieved to have one less hungry mouth to feed.
The young girl, at that time 6 years old, ended up in the schola on Solomon. A semi-fortified palace of grey ferrocrete, the monolithic building was isolated from the planet's normal populace by its position high above the spires. After going through the usual troubles that most newly inducted progena face in their first year, Elana quickly familiarized herself with the disciplined environment and grew into a skilled student, though her aptitude with the lasgun was notably more pronounced than her interest in the scholarly arts of calculation or the study of dusty tomes. Beatings by her Drill Abbot helped alleviate the problem somewhat, but her focus remained.
Thus it came as no surprise that, after having spent 9 years in the Schola, Elana was drafted by the Sisterhood, though her mentors were still filled with immense pride when it was declared that their pupil would be amongst the few Calixian girls chosen to join the Orders Militant. Transferred to the Sisterhood's sector training facility on Iocanthus, the young novice underwent a rigid training regime in order to strengthen her body as well as her soul for her new life ahead. Thanks to the harsh schola upbringing, the girl was well prepared for the hardships and deprivation of monastic life, whereas the Sisters' sodality and collective faith allowed her to blossom into a devout warrior of the God-Emperor.
Five years ago, Elana finally professed as a fully fledged Sister Militant and transitioned into the Order of Our Martyred Lady. She has seen comparatively little combat action yet, though her behavior during two violent mutant purges on Siculi and Merov was noted as adequate and befitting the reputation of her Order. Most of the time Elana was deployed as a bodyguard for his Eminence, Cardinal Cornelius CLXVIII of the Holy Calixian Synod, though a tour of duty as warden on the pilgrim route known as the Footsteps of Drusus also marks her a relatively seasoned traveller.
Elana's first name was, of course, given to her in homage of Elana the Unshaken. Although her parents could not have known of their child's destiny when they had made their choice, bearing the name of a Saint often had a positive impression on her devout superiors. It was, however, also a terrible burden, as with this name came many expectations on her conduct and performance.
Following the successful retrieval of the relic blade Atrial and a personal request by the hands of Inquisitor Jex, to whose cell she was seconded for the duration of the mission, Sister Elana has been sent on Detached Duty to the Inquisition. After undergoing the mandatory rituals of cleansing and preparation, she was transferred to the Tricorn conclave on Scintilla. Although not particularly delighted at the thought of serving so far apart from her convent, Elana did consider that her new assignment could also be seen as a great honour, possibly placing her at the forefront of many nefarious schemes aimed at destabilizing Imperial order, thus potentially fulfilling her destiny.
The Sister-Acolyte's second assignment had her and her team travel to the world of Modra, where the cell was to extract a technological device of xenos origin that was held in a secure facility of the local PDF. Disguising themselves as civilians and setting up a safehouse in the city, the group resolved to infiltrate the base in the cover of night. Unfortunately, the agents' advance was discovered too soon and a firefight broke out. Still, the acolytes managed to escape the scene together with their mission target to rendezvous with a guncutter sent by a Rogue Trader in the employ of Inquisitor Jex.
During warp transit, a Chaos raiding party led by a Traitor Marine somehow managed to attach their own craft to the Imperial ship and attempted to board it, but together with the group's help the attack was averted and the Chaos Marine slain in combat. By order of Sister Elana, the remains of the Marine and any of his belongings were to be incinerated to ensure that no taint would remain. At the conclusion of this assignment, acolyte Lazerus confessed his previously hidden psychic talents, which almost escalated into bloodshed as Elana accused him of having risked the cell's purity due to psychic disturbances surveyed on-site. Inquisitor Jex intervened, his servo skull paralyzing the Sister as she threatened to execute the psyker on the spot.
After being debriefed within the chambers of the Tricorne, Sister Elana returned to her duties with the Sisterhood, providing a detailed report of the past Inquisitorial assignments to her superiors. In light of her aptitude and to increase the Sister's usefulness for the Sororitas and Inquisition alike, Elana was admitted into the Sisterhood's Seraphim program, where she would join the elite ranks of the Orders Militant jump pack infantry. As the Order of Our Martyred Lady currently lacked both existing Seraphim squads in this region of the Emperor's domain as well as ambitions to raise them, Elana was transferred to the Order of the Sacred Rose and began the long journey to Holy Terra itself, where she would train on the sacred grounds of the Convent Prioris.

After undergoing the mandatory rituals of cleansing and preparation, she was transferred to the Tricorn conclave on Scintilla. Although not particularly delighted at the thought of serving so far apart from her convent, Elana did consider that her new assignment could also be seen as a great honour, possibly placing her at the forefront of many nefarious schemes aimed at destabilizing Imperial order, thus potentially fulfilling her destiny.
The Sister-Acolyte's second assignment had her and her team travel to the world of Modra, where the cell was to extract a technological device of xenos origin that was held in a secure facility of the local PDF. Disguising themselves as civilians and setting up a safehouse in the city, the group resolved to infiltrate the base in the cover of night. Unfortunately, the agents' advance was discovered too soon and a firefight broke out. Still, the acolytes managed to escape the scene together with their mission target to rendezvous with a guncutter sent by a Rogue Trader in the employ of Inquisitor Jex.
During warp transit, a Chaos raiding party led by a Traitor Marine somehow managed to attach their own craft to the Imperial ship and attempted to board it, but together with the group's help the attack was averted and the Chaos Marine slain in combat. By order of Sister Elana, the remains of the Marine and any of his belongings were to be incinerated to ensure that no taint would remain. At the conclusion of this assignment, acolyte Lazerus confessed his previously hidden psychic talents, which almost escalated into bloodshed as Elana accused him of having risked the cell's purity due to psychic disturbances surveyed on-site. Inquisitor Jex intervened, his servo skull paralyzing the Sister as she threatened to execute the psyker on the spot.
After being debriefed within the chambers of the Tricorne, Sister Elana returned to her duties with the Sisterhood, providing a detailed report of the past Inquisitorial assignments to her superiors. In light of her aptitude and to increase the Sister's usefulness for the Sororitas and Inquisition alike, Elana was admitted into the Sisterhood's Seraphim program, where she would join the elite ranks of the Orders Militant jump pack infantry. As the Order of Our Martyred Lady currently lacked both existing Seraphim squads in this region of the Emperor's domain as well as ambitions to raise them, Elana was transferred to the Order of the Sacred Rose and began the long journey to Holy Terra itself, where she would train on the sacred grounds of the Convent Prioris.
