HISTORY
Born to guardsmen parents, Drest was born on a condemed penal ship destines for Kommitzar. During the six month trip
through the warp, Drest was birthed just weeks before arriving in the Hazeroth Sector. During the time in the warp Drest's
father, a penal guard, was tending to the inmates. The warp had tangled and confused Drest's father, and his mind was easily
swayed by the confined heretics. Sacrificing life for Horus, a heretic psyker corrupted Drest's father and forced him to
release the confines that bound them. Upon detection of the psyker's actions the ship's cogitator alerted the captian and the
inmate's explosive collar was detonated, but the hanous dead was done and the penal scum had broken their confines. They
quickly overan the ship and killed all who opposed them, including Drest's brother, Ciavus. Before returning to the Omnissiah,
the ship's tech-priest was able to perform rituals of emergance and successfully detonated nine-tenths of the onboard
detainees' penal collars. The ship's captain slain at the helm was unable to hail for help and was only able to whisper a short
prayer to the Emporer before being sent to meet him. The ritual of emergance performed by the tech-priest sent the ship to
the closest safe haven and hailed for Emperial help. The ship then crash landed on the Agri-world Hilarion.
After crash landing on the Agri-World Hilarion, Drest's mother and the remaining crew located the nearest settlement. The
settlement was a recent addition to the planet, and helped to export the large amounts of nutra-slurry that the planet
produced. A small spaceport was adjacent and a small temple to our Emporer god. The rest of the city contained small shops,
pubs, and the large barracks for the workers. Here on Hilarion Drest grew up, and found work tending to the nutra-slurry
proeccessing facilities. With the stories told of the transport ship's brave tech-priest giving his life to the Omnissiah to save
as many lives as he could, and Drest's interest in the machines of the universe, Drest dedicated his life to the service of the
Omnissiah. Drest's mother, and the other new settlers waited for the Inquisition to arrive to determine what had happened on
the transport ship, and to try and locate the escaped heretics. After 27 years of a new life, the Inquisition arrived.
When the Inquisition arrived to investigate the happenings on the transport ship, Drest was more than eager to help them in
their search. Although Drest was far too young to recall any events on the ship, he had collected and retained the stories of
his parent's crewmates. In exchange for the wealth of information that he was able to provide to the Inquistorial team, he was
able to barter transport to Mars. Being born in the void, Drest feels at ease and content during the long jouney to Mars. The
warp contains many things that interest Drest, but he does not fear them.
On Mars, Drest continued to dedicate his life to the Omnissiah. Learning rituals and dedication rites to help maintain the
components that also dedicated themselves to the machine-god. Maintenance was his specialty, by using machine oils and
prayer, Drest learned to maintain and operate all of the Omnissiah's creations. After studying for 5 years, Drest decided to
leave Mars and return home to Hilarion.
Hilarion was the only place Drest knew as home. When he arrived to his lush green home, he learned that the Inquisition did
not continue with their investigation, as all but a few of the penal transports had died. This infuriated Drest, but to no avail. He
would be unable to fully forgive the Inquisition for their decision, but he did accept it, and understand. The death of his Father
and Brother were not fully avenged, but he carried that burden with him. At home, he continued to learn and research ancient
technologies in the name of the Omnissiah, but would never be content at staying on Hilarion for much longer.
