- Inquisitor Jex has gone missing from an investigation on Sisk, concerning an off-world force using disguises and hired Enoulians on the gunpowder feudal world for reasons unknown.
- The Sisk system is in the Periphery of the Calixis Sector, near the Halo Stars and the Koronus Expanse. An Imperial Navy Station is at the outskirts of the system. Patrols are semi-frequent.
- Enoulians are small humanoid xenos lacking a nose, lips and ears, having slits in place. They are very hateful of the Imperium, bordering on the maniacal.
- Due to the discovery of an unknown STC, the Imperial Commander (Local rank of ‘King’) has sealed a deal with the Adeptus Mechanicus. Tech-priests are scattered across the world providing low-level, but locally revolutionary, industry.
- As you arrived in Arnhut, you were shadowed by a local dressed man, sporting a handlebar moustache, but was not catched. Another observer was waiting at the Maxwell Station, but you evaded him.
- Local nobles and merchants are hiring off world mercenaries and other riff-raff to protect from attacks or theft, but also to show-off amongst their peer.
- A mysterious man wearing synthskin and equipped with imperial and xeno gear was with the Bryton Brothers when you confronted them. He seems to know Mira, and teleported away after giving her a warning to leave the World.- Mira Confirmed that the man is Gallus, the former head of the Assassin's cult she was with on her homeworld.
- Six local months ago, Inquisitor Jex, with the help of Darius the merchant, travelled and set up at the Earl of Bourfin’s house at the City-State of Maxwell, where most of the surrounding higher nobility resides. The Earl, his family and his servants were all butchered in one night. The rumour of a mysterious visitor at the Earl’s house, thought to be the murderer, cannot be confirmed. The ‘visitor’ is not yet identified. -- Killers were the Bryton brothers and the synthskin man, using Expander rounds on the Duke and his Wife.
- Since then, Inquisitor Jex was not seen nor heard of.
- Around the same time, a Chaliced Commissar visited the Arnhut Tech-Priest, dubbed “The Coal King” by the populace. The Calixian officer inquired about crimes (theft, sabotage) before leaving.
- The Earl’s death left a void in Maxwell’s power base. Despite numerous demands, the Duke of Maxwell has yet to grant the late Earl’s lands and estate near Plume to another member of the Court.
- The Baron of Geiswaden, the Lord of Arnhut and most lands south of Maxwell, have been pressuring the Duke of Maxwell to mount attacks against the ever-increasing Feral Orks attacks to no avail.
- At the Bourfin manner estate, "Galland is the one." is found written in secret Acolyte Tongue. The Acolytes also picked up a bag of unmarked gold coins and a unremarkable dagger.
- No data found by the Adepts on Galland..not local then. Maybe a ship? Completely unknown
- Masquerade party..half go in as nobles, half go in as servants.
- Zekeris - Planned to simultaneously attack on the guests, the Watch Stronghold and the Hall of Justice where court is being held and the magistrates lives (all with orks)
- Gallus is being protected by Enoulians (and maybe orks) in a small town nearby. All of the village's inhabitants are actually Gallus' underlings, each with hidden weaponry and armour. The road leading to the village is being guarded by Enoulians, with orders to kill any traveler or curious folk that gets too close.
- Jex was most likely the target of Gallus at the Earl's and survived.
